RIP Readathon Update

Day three of the RIP Readathon that I’m participating in is here and as of today, I’ve finished two books that are on my TBR for the readathon, finished an ARC, and I’m currently on page 210 of Illuminae (part of my readathon TBR) and at 56% on another ARC.

On day one of the readathon, I finished Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows. Finishing this book counted towards three prompts: Book in One Day, Creature Feature, and 2017 New Release. If I don’t get to Alex, Approximately and Tiger Lily, then I won’t mind too much since this book counted towards so many prompts. I wasn’t sure how I felt at the beginning of Before She Ignites. I got some major Shadowhunter vibes at first because one of the locations is Idris and in Idris there are Silent Brothers. The beginning was a little slow for me, but fortunately, the book picked up the pace significantly. By the last third of the book, I never wanted it to end.

I also read 120 pages of Illuminae on day one. Illuminae is my book for A New Format and honestly at this point, I’m only reading it because it counts towards this prompt. I don’t love it, but I also don’t hate it.

On day two of the readathon, I finished Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz. I started out kind of bored with this book because of all the information that was being thrown at me, but by a quarter of the way through the book, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I finished it pretty quickly and loved every minute of my time reading it. I also read 90 pages of Illuminae on day two.

So far today, I’ve read an ARC of All The Things We Were by Kayla Tirrell and have read a little more of Starstruck by S.E. Anderson. Neither of these were on my TBR for the readathon, but they’re books I needed to finish by a certain date. At this point, I’m in a pretty good place towards completing all the challenges for the readathon.
