I was graciously given a copy of Starstruck by S.E. Anderson in exchange for a review.
Overall Rating: 3/5 stars
I honestly had high hopes for this book because the synopsis sounded so interesting, but I felt so confused throughout most of it. Between chapters, sometimes months would pass and it left me so confused.
I really don’t know what to think of the characters. I didn’t know much about Sally’s past until the end of chapter 17 and even then it was a brief comment from a friend. Zander came out of nowhere from the moment he was introduced and kept coming out of nowhere throughout the story. I definitely never trusted Grisham. He always seemed shady to me. When things finally started happening and all was revealed it definitely made sense.
Luckily things picked up a lot for me in chapter nineteen. I felt like once I got to this chapter, I really sped through the rest of it. It’s unfortunate that it took so long for the pace of the story to pick up and for it to really grab my attention.
I’m really hoping the sequel, Alienation, is better than this one and doesn’t take so long to grab my attention and keep it.
