What I Bought in October 2017

I’ve bought so many book this month that I actually need to buy a new bookshelf just to have some place to put all the new books. Not only did I buy 23 books and one coloring book for myself, but I’ve bought over 30 for my children, which won’t be listed, for Christmas presents.

During the Book Outlet sale in the middle of the month, I placed an order which included several books for my children, but also included seven books for myself. Those books are:

  • Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
  • Until Friday Nights by Abbi Glines
  • The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler
  • Whatever Life Throws At You by Julie Cross
  • Snapshot by Angie Stanton
  • Rock and a Hard Place by Angie Stanton
  • Under the Spotlight by Angie Stanton

A library near me was having their quarterly book sale one weekend. I stopped by and ended up finding four books that interested me, which are:

  • Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
  • Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
  • Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
  • A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

The same day I went to the library book store, I also stopped by Ollie’s and found two books:

  • Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi
  • Mirror in the Sky by Aditi Khorana

The thrift store in my town has a pretty great book section. Not only did I find several books for my kids over the different times I went there, I also found five books for myself. Those books are:

  • Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
  • The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown
  • I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
  • L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad
  • We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

I love going to Half Price Books to find books I want. The location I go to is very close to a Barnes and Noble, so I tend to stop by Half Price Books first before going to Barnes and Noble to try to save money. Most of what I got at Half Price Books this month was actually for my kids, but I was able to find two books for myself, which are:

  • Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
  • Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I tend to try to stay away from buying books for full price if I can help it, but sometimes there are books I really want that I can only find at Barnes and Noble. This month, I bought two books and a coloring book, which are:

  • An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
  • The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
  • A Court of Thorns and Roses coloring book

The last book I got this month is the October OwlCrate book. I was so thrilled with the choice this month because it’s a book I kept picking up at Barnes and Noble and almost buying and I’m so glad I kept putting it back since it came in the OwlCrate box. That book is:

  • Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore
