Five for Friday

Happy Friday! Another new weekly post! I’m excited to start doing these every week because there are so many books I love, dislike, hope to start, etc. This week, I’m going to talk about five series that I’ve started and hope to finish in 2018. I have a habit of starting a series and having every intention of reading them all and then getting distracted by other books.

illuminaeThe first series I hope to finish this year is the Illuminae series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I’ve now read Illuminae twice (once in 2017 and once this year) and still have yet to read Gemina or Obsidio. I’m not sure why because I have loved Illuminae both times I’ve read it and want to continue to find out what happens next.

falling kingdomsAnother series I’m hoping to finish this year is the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. I read Falling Kingdoms in April and had every intention of reading Rebel Spring in May, but got sidetracked by other books and it ended up never getting read that month. Rebel Spring is on my TBR for July so hopefully I follow through and actually read it this month.

cinderNext, I hope to finish The Lunar Chronicles in 2018. I read Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress in March and had planned to read Winter, Stars Above, and Fairest that month as well but never got around to them before they were due back to the library. I know have my own copies so hopefully I pick them back up soon to finish off the series.

This next series that I haven’t finished is The Royals by Erin Watt. I honestly have no excuse for not finishing this series. I own them all (in e-books and physical books) so that’s not the issue. The only reason I can think of that I haven’t finished them is because I’m afraid to have the story end, which is kind of silly.

throne of glass bookLastly, a series I’m positive I’ll finish in 2018 is the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. I’m buddy reading this series with a group of friends, so I know I’ll end up finishing it this year, but it is a series that I started in 2017 and only made it two books into the series so I worry a little about hitting that point this time around as well.
