Grace and Fury – Slytherin Review

grace and furyI received an advanced copy of Grace and Fury through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Grace and Fury might just be my favorite book I’ve read in July! I found it to be so engaging and fast paced. I never wanted to stop reading, but had to because of a family emergency that happened the day I began reading it.

Summary:

In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi Tessaro face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other in prison.

Serina has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace – someone to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. But when her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, catches the heir’s eye, it’s Serina who takes the fall for the dangerous secret that Nomi has been hiding.

Now trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one way to save Serina: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to release her sister. This is easier said than done. A traitor walks the halls of the palace, and deception lurks in every corner. But Serina is running out of time, imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive and one wrong move could cost her everything.

I loved that Grace and Fury had a dual perspective story line. It helped tell the story so well since you were able to be in each sister’s head. While I enjoyed Nomi’s story line, I absolutely loved Serina’s. I found hers to be a little more interesting because she had be raised her whole life to be someone to stand next to The Heir and look pretty and service him. After the events that took place, all of that changes. She goes from someone who is silent and does what she’s told to this fierce and strong woman who speaks her mind.

I didn’t think I would, but I loved the love triangle in this story. I found it interesting because you really didn’t know who to trust or what was going to happen.

That twist at the end! Oh my, it got me. I never expected that to happen and when I clicked to go to the next page it was the acknowledgements and was so shocked that was how the story ended.

I absolutely loved Grace and Fury! It was full of feminism and strong and fierce women in a fantasy setting that I can’t wait to go back to. This will definitely be a book I reread again and again.

Grace and Fury is out on July 31, 2018! I highly recommend picking it up.

Happy reading!
