As we did a couple weeks ago, we’re back again to share the books we’re currently reading!
Comics Will Break Your Heart
From what I know of this story, it’s a Romeo and Juliet story with love and geekiness. I’ve just started this one, so I’m not entirely sure what the story will be about or how it will pan out, but it’s one of my most anticipated books for 2019, so I’m very excited to star reading it!
I’ve gotten to the last book of the five that Stephanie picked for me and this one absolutely scares me. I’m not sure exactly why because books with large page counts don’t intimidate me. For some reason though, this book has be afraid to start reading it.
From what I know about The Diviners, it’s a historical story with paranormal aspects to it. I’ve also just started this book so I’m not far into it and don’t know very much about it. I’m very curious about it and hope I enjoy it though!
King’s Cage is the third book in the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. In Red Queen, we see a fantasy world where everyone is divided by the color of their blood – silver (those with power), vs. red (those without). All of that changes when a girl with red blood exhibits silver power. Now in King’s Cage, things are gearing up for the ultimate showdown to happen in the next, and final, book.
I’ve been rereading this series in preparation for finally reading War Storm! The audiobooks for these are so good, and I’ve been flying through the series! I can’t wait to read War Storm!
The Last Unicorn
This book is set in a fantasy world where unicorns still exist…or at least one still does. The Last Unicorn follows the journey of a unicorn who is looking for the rest of her kind, after hearing that they’ve all gone away.
I used to watch this movie at least once a week when I was a kid. I was completely obsessed! I was shocked when I found out it was based on a book, and that the author was struggling due to a copyright war. My sister graciously gave me this book for Christmas, and though I’m only a couple chapters in, I know this is a book I’ll treasure forever!
Pretty In Punxsutawney
Pretty In Punxsutawney has been marketed as a mashup between Pretty In Pink, and Groundhog Day – two of my favorite 80’s/90’s movies! I’m not very far into the book, so I don’t quite know where the story is going to go, but I’m definitely enjoying it so far!
