This week’s (March 19, 2019) topic is: Books on My Spring TBR

As there are two of us here at Bookishly Slytherclaw, we’ll be splitting this list up and each of us will choose five!

Felicia’s Picks

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

I’m so very behind on this series! I read Caraval late last year and meant to go straight into Legendary after finishing Caraval, but it never happened. I’m hoping to get to it in the next few months so I can read Finale when I receive it.

The Wicked King by Holly Black

I have had The Wicked King since release day and I have yet to pick it up. I’m so afraid to because I’ve heard there’s a huge cliffhanger and I don’t want to have to wait for the third book, but I really need to read this one soon.

The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston

This has to be one of my most anticipated contemporary books of 2019 and I absolutely can’t wait for it. I know this is going to be one I read as soon as it’s in my hands and I know it’s going to be one I’m going to love.

Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi

Defy Me is another that I’m desperately anticipating! After the end of Restore Me, I absolutely need this and I can’t wait for it. It’s another that I know I’m going to read as soon as it arrives because I’ve been waiting so long for it.

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

I’ve recently gotten really into graphic novels and have read several each month. I’m hoping to continue with this as a way to change up the formats of books. Heartstopper is one I’ve heard several people mention in various places, but I really don’t know much about it. I’m hoping to pick it up in the next few months!

Stephanie’s Picks

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

I got this book a couple weeks ago at Barnes and Noble, but I haven’t been able to make it fit into my monthly TBR’s yet. Plus, I’ve heard so many mixed reviews on this one, that I’m almost scared to start it! But I’m going to be biting the bullet, and definitely putting this one on my TBR in the next few months!

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

I was just given this novel as a present for my birthday! I’ve read Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, and I really enjoyed it! So I’m definitely excited to delve into this novel! The cover is so pretty and intriguing, so it’s definitely going to be read really soon!

Finale by Stephanie Garber

This book is arguably my most anticipated read of 2019, so you can bet this book is going to be read as soon as my preorder hits my porch! I’m so excited for this novel, and I CAN’T WAIT to get my hands on this!

Rayne and Deliliah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner

This is another book that I got as a birthday present! I hadn’t heard of this until my friend gave it to me, but since then, I’ve been told by several people that it is right up my alley, and that I’ll enjoy it immensely! The cover has me super excited to read it, and I can’t wait to see how this book turns out!

Archenemies by Marissa Meyer

I bought myself this book as a Christmas present with a gift card that I was given. It’s been on my TBR since the first one was released! I’ve added it to my TBR every month since then, but it’s had to get bumped off to make room for ARCs that need my attention. Here’s hoping that I’m able to get to this one soon! I need to know what happens!

  1. Felicia: Maybe I’m alone here, but I didn’t think the cliffhanger at the end of The Wicked King was all that bad. I mean, sure, I want to read the next one, but I’m not, like, sobbing in a corner because why isn’t it out yet. xD So I feel like that’s a win. You should read it. Join ussssss.

Stephanie: I have the same reservations about King of Scars. I mean, let’s face it, I’m totally going to give it a try … it’s just a matter of when lol. I also really need to read Caraval. I’m not sure what’s taken me so long on that one, but now I see everyone looking forward to Finale, and I’m so left out. xD

Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday post.
