Slytherin – June TBR

Slytherin TBR

I’m back! After a much needed and untold break, I’m finally feeling up to blogging again. Unfortunately life got very crazy during April and May and I definitely just needed to take a little time off. I hope to put together a wrap up for the last few months, but for now, I have my June TBR!

During June, I plan to participate in TBR and Beyond‘s Dobby Goes to Pride event, Reading Rivalry‘s monthly challenge, and also The Olympic Games hosted by Ishi Time.

For Dobby goes to Pride, there are eight prompts to get Dobby ready to go to Pride. As you read for the game, you get to dress Dobby in different articles of clothing as well as decorate a background.

Dobby Pride TBR
  1. F/F Relationship – Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner
  2. MG or Adult LGBTQ+ – Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  3. Book with an asexual Character – Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
  4. Book with a bi or pan character – The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
  5. Queer Fantasy – Aquicorn Cove by Katie O’Neill
  6. Book with a transgender or non-binary character – Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker
  7. Queer Contemporary – I Kissed Alice by Anna Birch
  8. Cute Queer Cover – What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

This month for Reading Rivalry, I’m on Team Red, White, and Royal Blue! There are some amazing criteria this month and I’m so excited for them all. Several of my books for June overlap with what I planned to read for Dobby Goes to Pride for TBR and Beyond.

RR TBR
  1. Author Highlight (Sarah J Maas, Susanne Collins, Colleen Hoover) – A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
  2. Summer Read – Driving Me Crazy by Lisa Suzanne
  3. #OwnVoices – Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
  4. Trans/NonBinary Author or Character – Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker
  5. A Book That Reminds You of A Video Game – The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
  6. A Book That is the Colors of a Pride Flag – Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  7. First Love – What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
  8. Complicated Family Situation – A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas
  9. A Character Who Forges Their Own Path – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
  10. Book You Read Based on the Cover or Title – I Kissed Alice by Anna Birch

The final reading challenge I plan to participate in during June is the Olympic Games hosted by Ishi Time on YouTube. This is a readathon revolving around Camp Half-Blood and the Greek Gods and Goddesses. I picked Aphrodite as my team! For Aphhrodite, I have five mandatory challenges to complete with one of those being choose a prompt that honors Ares and then three advanced challenges.

olympic games

Mandatory

  • Read a romance – Driving Me Crazy by Lisa Suzanne
  • Beautiful Cover – Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
  • Strong, Independent female character – The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
  • A Classic – Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  • Red Cover – A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

 Advanced

  • Shorter than 200 pages – Aquicorn Cove by Katie O’Neill
  • Published in the Last Five Years – Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  • Blue Cover – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

During the month, I will most likely read other books during the month as well, but definitely plan to read the above books. Many overlap between the various different challenges I’m participating in so that will be helpful when it comes to wanting to read other books during June.
